The Battle of Britain was one of the most crucial turning points of World War 2, where Britain stood resilient against enemy forces in the skies. This workshop explores the timeline of World War 2, focusing specifically on the Battle of Britain—when it started and ended, who was involved, and why it was significant.
Students will gain insight into life in Britain at the time, including the experiences of evacuees and the role of air raid shelters in keeping people safe. Additionally, they will discover the technological advancements in aircraft on both sides of the battle.
This interactive session will combine History and Design & Technology (DT), enabling students to build either an aircraft from the battle or an air raid shelter using LEGO bricks.
